Craig Anderson and Darryll King proved age will not weary them with both riders dominating proceedings in the Veteran motocross classes held in conjunction with round two of the MX Nationals at Coonabarabran.
Anderson, on board his Berry Sweet Yamaha YZ450F won the 30 to 39 years division despite some tough opposition from defending champ, Cameron Taylor. Anderson won all four races, but had to work hard to overcome a persistant Taylor who ended up third for the round after a fall in the opening moto cost him valuable points.
Anderson, still an active racer who also contested the premier MX1 class, looks revitalized in 2012 with his change to Yamaha giving him a new lease on racing.
"It was good to get some great starts and get out the front and lead some races. The track here is awesome but also rough and fast. The team had the bike set up well and I was able to race it exactly the way I wanted to."
"The change to Yamaha this year has been really positive for the team and everyone is enjoying the new bikes," Anderson said.

Does Darryll King know that he shouldn't be going so fast at 42 years of age?
The former world number 2 is still in fine form and continues to defy nature by racing dirt bikes at crazy speed. He won all four motos on the weekend and takes a commanding lead into the final Vets round at Coolum later in the year. This comes on top of winning the New Zealand motocross championships earlier in the season.
"I had a great day racing on a track that really challenges you. Its fast, has some jumps and gets super rough and becomes a real riders track."
"It's nice to win this event and huge thanks must go to Yamaha Australia and Craig Anderson's Berry Sweet team for their assistance over the weekend," DK said.
Round two of the Vets championship will take place at the final round of the MX Nationals at Coolum. QLD on August 25th
