Australia's frontrunning Pro Lite motocross team Serco Yamaha has today announced the signing of teenage sensation Jake Moss for the 2007 national season.
The 18-year-old from Sussex Inlet, NSW, dosplayed winning speed in his debut year with the QLD based team finishing 6th overall in the Nokia MX Nationals Pro Lite class, taking two pole positions along the way, and he currently sits 9th in the Supercross Championship.
It was also announced today that Moss will campaign an entry at the final round of the Toyota AMA Motocross championship at Glen Helen in California.
Moss will depart for Los Angeles later this month to complete intensive pre-event preparations at various locations and ride days ahead of the main race weekend, which is run from September 8-9.
Serco team principle Gavin Eales has once again played an instrumental part in making Moss' ride in the USA happen, lending his personal support to the young racer.
"I’m very pleased to be able to create these opportunities for Jake," said Eales.
"He has shown time and time again why he is considered a future champion and the experience of racing at Glen Helen and the extra dedication it requires will be great for him."
"We look forward to a great 2007 season with Jake on board once again."
The talented rider was given his first break with the Yamaha factory outfit in 2005 after Eales foresaw a successful career waiting to be unleashed following an impressive guest ride at the 2005 Oceania Championship.
He wasted little time in securing Moss for the 2006 season, where he excelled in a number of areas and made significant progress in developing his racing style.
Moss is the only rider of the three man squad from 2006 to have re-signed so far. Cameron Taylor, who has bought the team so much success in recent years is still in negotiations and the there has been no word on what Robbie Marshall will do for 2007.
